Dr Parijat Chandra has had the opportunity to study and train under some of the best educational institutions in the country.
He completed his schooling in 1991 from Delhi Public School, Mathura Road, New Delhi. DPS is the premier public school in New Delhi. He was a gold medalist and scholar gown holder, with a bright academic record throughout his schooling. He won the marker cups for Biology and Social Sciences.
Then he had the opportunity to get admission into MBBS in first attempt in University College of Medical Sciences, Delhi, a premier medical College affiliated with Delhi University and Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital, in 1991 and was possibly one of the youngest doctors to enter into medicine. He had a brilliant academic record in UCMS and won several gold medals, silver medals and distinctions in various subjects of medicine. He stood second in the final MBBS exam.
MD & DNB (Ophthalmology)
After completing his internship, he got admission in first attempt into the country’s premier medical institution, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Delhi in 1997. He joined the MD (Ophthalmology) course and had the opportunity to train under the best faculty in the country. He maintained a brilliant academic profile.
Subsequently, he also obtained the DNB (Ophthalmology) and passed the National Board of Examinations , Delhi in 2000.
After that, he joined a senior resident for intensive three-year training in management of vitreoretinal diseases and vitreoretinal surgery. Thereafter he joined as senior research associate under CSIR where conducting research in vitreoretinal diseases.
He joined as Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology in AIIMS in 2006 as faculty member, and is now engaged in teaching and training in vitreoretinal diseases and vitreoretinal surgery.
